Rho Chapter General Scholarship Fund

Thanks to all the alumni that have donated to our "Rho Chapter Scholarship Fund". For nine years we have been able to give out two memorial awards, named after two beloved fraters; Robert Butcher and Phillip Tennant. Currently we have $9127 in our account at Nationals and $250 in our account locally, for a total of $9377. Our goal this year is to raise $4000 for our fund. Currently this year we have received donations in the amount of $1080. So we still need to raise $2920 to get this years target amount. I encourage every frater to give at least $25 since this is "OUR FUND" not just a few individuals'. We will have a plaque at the house that shows the scroll# and last name of every frater that gives to the "Rho Chapter Scholarship Fund", this has been done for the past two years. It has been a great way for actives, pledges, and potentials to see our involvement. Since 2001 we have also had a plaque at the house honoring those fraters who have given at least $1000 in a single year to our fund. Only we alumni can insure the continued growth of this program for years to come. To donate please send your check to Dan Long, Gary Bass, or by paypal account at the alumni site. If you wish to send your donation directly to Nationals, you MUST state that it is for the "Rho Chapter Scholarship Fund" or it will go into Nationals general scholarship fund. Robert Butcher Memorial Scholarship Fund

Rob Butcher, P.737 was a member of the first pledge class after the recolonization in 1984. The Robert Butcher Memorial fund was established to honor a brother who was full of life and was taken before he hit his prime. He was a strong personality who played hard, lived life to it's fullest, and found a home at TKE. Sadly, he will killed outside Morgantown one night near graduation when he lost control of his car at a high speed. The goal of the Rob Butcher Memorial Fund is to help Rho TKE brothers realize their potential. See a list of past scholarship recipients below:

Phillip Tennant Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Phillip M. Tennant Memorial Fund was establish to promote scholarship within Rho Chapter. Phil was Prytanis for the 1989-1990 school year and also served on the Board of Governors for WVU. Beyond that Phil was a member of the Army Corps of Engineers. In 1991 he was taken from us too soon. He was a person that everyone liked and was a huge influence on many rho chapter undergraduates and the chapter as a whole. Contributions to the Phil's Fund so future Rho Teke's can carry on his legacy as a leader in the Fraternity as well as the community. See a list of past scholarship recipients below:
